ITINERARY IN DETAIL
DAY 1 – October 12, 2009 – FLY TO JAPAN
Overnight flight to Japan.
DAY 2 – October 13 – Tokyo
Arrive in Tokyo. The group flight participants are met and transferred by coach to the hotel. On arrival at the hotel, check into the rooms. Group meeting. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.
DAY 3 – October 14 – TOKYO
This morning we embark on an introductory tour of Tokyo to see such sights as:
The Imperial Palace Plaza.
The Kannon Temple
Nakamise
The Asakusa district
Lunch in a local Japanese restaurant and return to the hotel. Rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.
DAY 4 – October 15 – MOUNT FUJI
Attend brief meeting at hotel in early morning. Explore Mount Fuji. Overnight at a Hot Spring Mall.
DAY 5 – October 1620– MOUNT FUJI
Explore Hakone Mountain Area. Take Bullet Train to Nagoya in late afternoon.
DAY 6 – October 17 – NAGOYA
See the sites of Nagoya. Some of the key points are:
Nagoya Castle
Tokugawa Art Museum
Sakae Shopping Street
Travel on train to Kyoto and stay overnight in Kyoto.
DAY 7 – October 18 – NARA SIGHTS
Today, we spend viewing the sights of the ancient shrines and temples of Nara. Some of the main sights to visit are:
Todaiji (or Todai) Temple (Great Eastern Temple)
Kofukuji Temple
Kasuga Taisha Shrine
Deer Park
Yakushiji Temple
Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 8 – October 19 – KYOTO
Visit the greatest shrines and temples in Japan, such as:
Golden Pavillion
Kinkakuji Temple
Ryoanji Temple
Sanjusangendo Temple.
Ryoanji Temple,
Fushimi Inari TaishaShrine
Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 9 – October 20 – HIROSHIMA
Spend the entire day visiting the historic sites on this famous area.
A Bomb Museum
Peace Memorial
Miyajima Island
Overnight at Inn in Miyajima.
DAY 10 – October 21 – KYOTO
Miyajima/Itsukushima Shrine visit in the morning AND Japanese Tea Ceremony. Afternoon return to Kyoto and Shopping.
DAY 11 – October 22 – OSAKA
Transfer to airport. CATCH PLANE TO RETURN HOME VIA Kansai International Airport, Osaka. Services end.
DAY 12 – October 23 – ARRIVE HOME.
